For Our Visitors

How do people dress at Holy Communion?

Even on special holy days like Easter, you'll find a variety of formal and informally dressed people at Holy Communion. We are a community that celebrates and worships together as we are comfortable and we welcome the differences in our styles. Come as you are able and dress as you desire.

Are children welcome? Is there childcare?

Yes! and Yes! Children are welcome to remain with their parents for worship. Nursery care is also provided at the 10:30 AM service and Children's Church for ages 2 through 7 runs parallel to the 10:30 service with children joining their parents for communion. Both of these programs are located on the lower level and ushers are able to direct you to them. . Yes! Children are Welcome!

Is Holy Communion accessible for the Handicapped?

Holy Communion is accessible with a wheelchair ramp located on the Delmar Entrance, Ground Floor, and a shorter wheelchair ramp on the Jackson street lower level. Jackson Street has a handicapped parking spot located adjacent to that ramp.

Is everyone welcome at Holy Communion? Can I bring my Partner?

Yes! Everyone is welcome to join our community. We are an open and affirming community that seeks to build strong relationships across sexual, ethnic, economic, and cultural difference. We are not a club. We are a community of Christians striving to model the love and inclusivity of Jesus in our fellowship and in our service. Join us, and see what you think!

Are your service times always the same?

Almost always. About four times a year we combine our 8 and 10:30 services into one. This happens during our two annual picnics in late May (the 25th this year) and early September, and then during Annual Meeting (end of February)and special events such as the Bishop's Visitation. We try hard to keep everyone informed of these combined services.

Can I get married, baptized, or talk about my spiritual concerns with a priest at your church?

Yes. We are available to serve your spiritual and sacramental needs. Please call the church office Monday through Friday, 9 - 5 PM. Phone (314) 721-7401.
