Housing Ministry 2.0

In 2017, HoCo banded together and did a full renovation of the house we own at 7401 Gannon Street. Since then, we have partnered with other nonprofits to provide a beautiful, safe place to live for housing insecure individuals. Our current partnership with St. Patrick Center is working like clockwork, and will continue for years to come.

It is now time to consider what is next for our housing Ministry. What might 2022 and beyond look like if we wanted to add a chapter to our ministry efforts? Of course, we could swing hammers again, or we could focus on making advocacy phone calls or another activity to help homeless of our region.

A group of HOCO volunteers have been connecting with other St. Louis non-profits, this summer, to understand where the biggest housing needs are, and how a congregation like Holy Communion might help the housing insecure of St. Louis. That team of volunteers now wants to engage the congregation to discuss "the menu" of options that they have collected (attached) as well as to hear your thoughts on where you see our resources going in the future.
