Shrove Tuesday Pancakes
Traditionally Episcopalians host a big pancake supper on Mardi Gras, the day before Ash Wednesday, what we call “Shrove Tuesday.” Historically Pancakes were a great way to use up all the fat in your house (thus the name “fat Tuesday”) ahead of the Lenten fast.
This year, we’re back to pancakes from 6pm-7pm on Tuesday March 1! if the weather is nice, join us on the front lawn. If it’s not, just stop by and pick up pancakes. Prizes for best Mardi Gras outfits during the event Join in the fun.
Bring along your blessed palms from 2021, we’ll burn blessed palms to make ashes for Ash Wednesday at 7pm. We say prayers and mark the transition toward Lent. It’s a great way to literally see the connections in the church year come together.
We’re still looking for pancake flippers. Sign up with Deacon Chester by clicking below.
